The treatment always begins with your periodontist administering an appropriate anesthetic to ensure you feel no pain. When you are ready, your oral care provider will use a precise surgical laser to remove infected gum tissue and kill harmful germs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The laser will cauterize the treated tissue as it works, which will limit bleeding, help prevent postoperative infections, and set the patient up for a smooth healing process.
